The move had been expected for quite some time, as the Jaguars needed to shed some cap room and save around $11 million in cap space from moving on. The Jaguars originally added Jackson as an unrestricted free agent in 2016 Jermey Parnell Color Rush Jersey , signing him to a massive six-year, $85.5 million deal with $31.5 million guaranteed. Some thought that the Jaguars spent way too much on a player who was a rotational played with the Denver Broncos, but Jackson had an immediate impact with the Jaguars with his highest sack total of his career with 6.5 sacks and then making the Pro Bowl in 2017 after picking up another career high 8 sacks. While Jackson’s play fell off in the 2018 season, he was still a good player on the Jaguars talented defensive line. He started losing snaps at the three-technique position to Marcell Dareus and later in the season rookie Taven Bryan. There is also some thought that Jackson played the season a little light in the pants and injured.I would expect Jackson to have a nice market in free agency and feel that he is still a very good player who can help another team A. J. Cann Jersey , his price tag was just way too high for the Jaguars given their cap situation. The NFL trade deadline is on Tuesday at 4 p.m. EST, so rumors of who could be on the move picked up over night as teams approach the deadline and make decisions about their team. I don’t believe the Jacksonville Jaguars will be trading for anyone, but new rumors seem to indicate they could be parting with someone.FOX Sports’ Jay Glazer name dropped defensive end Dante Fowler Jr. as a name to watch at the deadline for a team like the Los Angeles Rams, who at 8-0 are looking to stockpile for a Super Bowl run.NBC’s Peter King also mentioned Fowler in some comments about trades at the deadline:In all honesty , it would make sense for the Jaguars to deal Fowler at the deadline if they can get something for him. Obviously if it’s just something like a sixth or seventh-round pick, you’d lean on keeping him on the roster, but anything on Day 2 or higher of the NFL Draft would be appealing. It seems obvious the Jaguars aren’t planning to keep Fowler Jr. when his contract expires at the end of the season, and based on how his season has gone it’s unlikely he will net a high end compensatory pick for 2020 if he signs elsewhere. At the moment he’s only playing about 15 23 snaps a game and has done his usual disappearing act with less than a handful of splash plays mixed in Telvin Smith Color Rush Jersey , most notably his sack-fumble of Tom Brady in Week 2 when he returned to the lineup.Maybe there’s an offensive lineman or receiver the Rams would be willing to package and part with, but even if you’re getting a third or fourth-round pick at this point, the Jaguars should go for it sitting at 3-5.
